Professor Wilson Lu, Junjie Chen, together with other 4 Ph.D. students and 6 undergraduate students visited Beijing Normal University and Tsinghua University during June 25th to June 30th.

Professor Wilson Lu delivered a touching speech in the opening ceremony, elaborated how the program overcome external barriers and the significance of reconnection with leading university in mainland China after COVID-19 pandemic. The 6-day fruitful experience at Beijing Normal University contained a series of academic and exploratory activities, including expert lectures, technical modeling courses, thematic workshops, company or project visits, and ecological research, as well as panel discussions and presentations. The objectives of the visit are to build bridges between The University of Hong Kong and other universities, to exchange talent training methods, to provide opportunities for the collision of ideas and brainstorming, and to explore potential research collaboration.

 

At Tsinghua University, the team had a panel discussion with Thomas Ho, the Chairman of the Construction Institute Council (CIC), Kevin O’Brien, the CEO of Gammon Construction Limited, Professor Dongping Fang, dean of School of Civil Engineering,Tsinghua University, and other industrial leaders and scholarly experts.

Dr. Junjie Chen also served as the judge for the 15th Innovation competition in Construction Engineering and Management, which was held in Tsinghua University.
